Clove (“Clove”, “we”, “us”) is a personal content curator. To do its job, it needs a little information about you and the sources you follow. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we rely on to run the service, and the choices you have. It works alongside our Terms of Service.
What we collect
- Account details. When you sign in with Google, we receive and store your email, name, and Google profile picture.
- Your curation setup. The sources you add (newsletters, Substacks, blogs, YouTube channels, podcasts) and the plain-English filters you write describing what you want.
- Generated digests. The curated digests we produce for you, so we can deliver them and keep your history.
- Telegram link. The Telegram chat id you connect, so we know where to deliver.
- Usage analytics. Basic product-usage events (e.g. which features you use) so we can understand and improve Clove.
We do not collect or store your payment card details — payments are handled entirely by our Merchant of Record (see below).
Why we use it
- To run the core service: read your sources, apply your filters, generate digests, and deliver them to Telegram.
- To operate your account and authenticate you.
- To process payments for the Plus plan (via our Merchant of Record).
- To understand product usage and make Clove better.
- To communicate with you about the service and respond to your requests.
We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use the contents of your digests to advertise to you.
Who we share it with
Clove runs on a handful of trusted third parties. Each one only touches the data it needs to do its part:
- Authentication. When you sign in with Google OAuth, Google verifies your identity and shares your email, name, and profile picture with us.
- Supabase
- Authentication and database hosting. Supabase stores your account, sources, filters, generated digests, and Telegram link in our database and manages your login sessions.
- Lemon Squeezy
- Payments, as our Merchant of Record. If you subscribe to Plus, Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record — they collect and process your payment and card details (we never see them) and handle applicable taxes.
- Telegram
- Delivery channel. We send your curated digests to the Telegram chat you link, so your digest content and chat id pass through Telegram.
- OpenAI
- Curation. We send content from your sources to OpenAI's models server-side to score and curate items against your filters. This is used to produce your digest, not to train models on your data by us.
- PostHog
- Product analytics. PostHog receives usage events so we can understand how Clove is used and improve it.
- Railway and Vercel
- Hosting. Our backend and website run on Railway and Vercel, which process requests and data as part of serving the app.
Data retention
We keep your account data and curation setup for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data from our systems within a reasonable period, except where we need to keep something to meet a legal obligation. Some data held by our processors (for example, payment records at Lemon Squeezy) is retained under their own policies.
Your choices
- You can edit or remove your sources and filters at any time inside the app.
- You can unlink Telegram to stop deliveries.
- You can ask us to access or delete your personal data by emailing support@heyclove.app.
Children
Clove isn't intended for anyone under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
International transfers
The third parties above operate globally, so your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We rely on these providers' safeguards to protect it in transit and at rest.
Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of India.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will be flagged where appropriate.
