Clove (“Clove”, “we”, “us”) is a personal content curator: you pick the sources you trust, write plain-English filters describing what you care about, and we send you a curated digest in Telegram. By creating an account or using Clove, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Who can use Clove

You need to be old enough to form a binding contract where you live (and at least 13). You're responsible for everything that happens under your account, so keep your Google login secure. One person, one account — don't share credentials.

Your account

You sign in with Google. We use that to identify you and to store the things that make Clove work: your email, name, Google profile picture, the sources and filters you set up, the digests we generate for you, and the Telegram chat we deliver to once you link it. You can stop using Clove and ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing support@heyclove.app. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what we store and why.

Acceptable use

Clove is for curating content you have a legitimate right to read. When you use it, please don't:

  • Break the law, or use Clove to infringe someone else's rights — including copyright or the terms of the sources you add.
  • Add sources you aren't entitled to access, or use Clove to circumvent a publisher's paywall or access controls.
  • Attempt to probe, scrape, overload, reverse-engineer, or otherwise abuse the service or the systems it runs on.
  • Resell, sublicense, or repackage Clove or the digests we generate as your own product.
  • Use the service to send spam, harass anyone, or distribute malware.

If you seriously or repeatedly break these rules, we may suspend or close your account. We'll try to be reasonable and tell you why, but for clear abuse we may act first.

Plans and what they include

Clove has two plans. Free lets you follow up to 10 sources. Plus raises that to 150 sources and costs $4.99/month or $49.99/year. Features and limits can change as the product evolves; if we change a paid plan's core benefits, we'll give you reasonable notice.

Billing, cancellation, and refunds

Payments for Plus are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. That means Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record for the transaction: they process your payment, handle applicable taxes, and issue your receipt. We never see or store your card details.

Plus is a recurring subscription that renews automatically (monthly or yearly, depending on what you chose) until you cancel. Because Lemon Squeezy runs the billing relationship, your subscription management — upgrades, cancellation, and refund requests — goes through them, and Lemon Squeezy's terms also apply to the purchase. You can cancel anytime; cancellation stops future renewals and your Plus access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for. If you think you're owed a refund, email us at support@heyclove.app and we'll sort it out with Lemon Squeezy.

Changes to sources and availability

Clove depends on third-party sources (newsletters, Substacks, blogs, YouTube channels, podcasts) and third-party platforms we don't control. A source may change, go behind a paywall, rate-limit us, or disappear, and a delivery channel like Telegram may have outages. We may add, change, or remove which source types and features we support, and we can't guarantee that any particular source will always be available or that every item will be captured. We may also modify or discontinue parts of the service.

Content and ownership

The content in your digests belongs to its original publishers — Clove just helps you read it. The sources and filters you create are yours. We own the Clove software, brand, and site. The fox is ours too.

No warranty

Clove is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, perfectly accurate, or that the fox's picks will always match your taste. Curation involves automated judgment, and it sometimes gets things wrong.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Clove won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service. To the extent we are ever found liable, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim, or USD $50.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Clove grows. If we make a material change, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, let you know. Continuing to use Clove after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
